Hello everybody,

I hope there is no problem to write in English because I cannot write in French :), sorry. I am from Spain.

I have done the SC1 mod to my SPC900 following the instructions from this web

http://www.bbayle.com/spc900nc/spc900nc.htm

As you can see, the main circuit is a 4011 who can switch between long exposure and normal exposure automatically. Connected trough the parallel port it works perfect using Astrosnap, selecting of course LPT1 in the options window.

Now the problem is when you want to connect this camera to a laptop without parallel or serial ports. Looking for a solution in Internet the way is to use a USB to Serial converter, a simple circuit and a parallel connector to connect to the webcam. I take a photo of this after make all the connections:

The simple circuit is based on this:

http://rmass.free.fr/matos.html#sc1

But this is not valid or at least It does not work for me.

I use Astrosnap as my favorite program and as I can read in this post:

http://www.webastro.net/forum/showthread.php?t=21918&highlight=astrosnap+RTS

I put the parameters suggested by winch20010 but none.

I tried with K3CCDTools also but is the same.

Does someone knows a solution for this issue? :b:

Thanks for your help.

May be Lin from this forum can help you.

He knows very well this SPC900 and did a lot of LP modifications.

Hello Fermars, can you post a picture of the LP parameters of astrosnaps please ? Look at the "longue pose" parameters and be sure that the "COMx" is like $02F8(COMx) and not just "COMx" (off course you have to check "RS232").

You can also try to install porttalk 2.2 but if your cam works with the // port I'm not sure that is the problem.
